Teaching children to read and write requires more than just one method—it requires knowing when to draw on sound-based instruction and when to emphasize print-based patterns. During this conference, participants will discover the complementary roles of speech-to-print (starting with sounds and mapping them to letters) and print-to-speech (starting with written words and connecting them back to sounds) approaches in literacy instruction.
